VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — As more families head to the beach and pool this summer, swim instructors are reminding parents that learning to swim is one of the best ways to help prevent drowning.
Tide Swim School hosted its third annual "World's Largest Swim Lesson" at Ocean Breeze Waterpark in Virginia Beach on Thursday, joining swim schools across the country in a nationwide effort to promote water safety. About 50 instructors volunteered their time to teach swimmers of all ages the basics of staying safe in and around the water.
